Positive Living in Costa Rica! If you are like most people who are attracted to Costa Rica, you are interested in finding the pura vida [literally means “pure life”] life. Many have great expectations about what they are going to find. Maybe you are one of those who has read the guidebooks and are ready to dive in. Good for you! Now, all that you have to do is make that a reality. Others are simply looking at their retirement options, or want to leave the rat race behind and live in a relaxing, refreshing, fulfilling environment at one with nature and their fellow human being. And again, Costa Rica is a great choice. One of the best, in fact. You just want to let go and fly free like the birds. Or, maybe you like nature itself in all of its wonder and splendor. But, you may be asking yourself, can you really be this lucky? The answer is YES, YOU CAN! We are forming Positive Living Communities in various places around the country – and YOU can be there! Right now, there is an opening for PIONEERS to come to Costa Rica and assist us in the start up phase of the first community. For now, we suggest you come and rent a home or apartment near our offices so that you can be involved in the foundational planning sessions for our first community. Already, many plans have been laid, and some people have even offered us some properties in exchange for part of the action. We will have two main types of residents: those who own their own property in the community and others who cannot afford to buy anything now, but will be happy to rent. And, of course, we will have guest accommodations for those interested in finding out more about us! We will also have room for investors in our Community Development Corporation, whose job it is to manage the construction and maintenance of all of our future communities. We expect the return on investment to be generous, life long, and ever expanding. Each community will be an income generator of great proportions once the project is fully operational. Here are some of the things we plan on offering: Organic farming methods will produce a high value, high demand product for which consumers in Costa Rica and the world will pay top dollar. We will produce various agricultural products, including plant and animal products, in a self contained, self sustaining cycle with no waste. Animal and human waste will go into a recovery pond for purification, and the water will be recycled to various uses. Sustainable solar, wind, hydro, and other power sources will be used to make the community self sufficient on electricity use. One of the by products of the water reclamation pond will be a plant that can be used in the production of alcohol as a replacement for any gasoline or diesel needed by the community. Excess fuel grade alcohol can be sold to the general public or nearby farms. We will, of course, consult with local neighboring farmers to help them convert their machinery to this energy efficient and environmentally friendly fuel. The Community will be managed by a “homeowner’s association” that will make decisions concerning the community. There will be a store and restaurant/cafeteria that will be for the use of the public as well as community members. The community will use its own LETS type of internal currency, which preservers value and helps keep money in the community. This currency will also be convertible to colons and dollars when needed. There will be a Community Center where residents and members of the pubic will be able to enjoy lectures and guest speakers on topics of interest. Community residents will be allowed to sign up to sponsor events in the Center as long as there is room on the calendar, which will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Fitness facilities, including a gymnasium and pool, as well as a Jacuzzi and vapor room are planned, and other facilities such as tennis courts, a track, etc. can be added at the discretion of the Resident’s Association. Residents will be encouraged and assisted in starting their own businesses if they desire. Others will be interested in working on the agricultural and other community projects. We are a Libertarian oriented community. Our main rule is “do no harm.” We are not religiously based, but residents are free to practice their religion in peace and tolerance, as long as they agree not to proselytize or otherwise attempt to “cram their religion down the throats” of others. We are here to live in mutual self respect and tolerance, without bias, to any race, religion, or other factor. This sets us apart as a forward looking showcase for a tolerant, peaceful society where people of differing views can coexist together side by side in peace. Alternative, positive education will be offered for children and adults at the discretion of the community. So there you have it! Our community will be a planned outpost of peace, harmony, and prosperity. We plan to be a worldwide showcase of what can be done when everyone is encouraged and enabled to achieve as much in life as they can.
