Ambassasor College Bible Correspondence Course

Editor's Notes

As you read through this material, please keep in mind that it was written during the fearsome times of the Cold War by people who had just witnessed the horrors of World War II. There was a strong inclination (which is refelected in some of these lessons) to interpret Bible prophesy in light of those events. As history has subsequently shown, the author's inclination was wrong. But this does not in any way invalidate the compelling scope of Bible prophesy, nor even the general theme of Armstrong's explanation of those prophesies. Some have assumed that since Armstrong was wrong about some of these details, he was wrong on everything. It is the editor's hope the student would instead recall Paul's adminition to the church of the Thessalonians, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." The editor's further hope that you will likewise embrace the things that Armstrong taught which have been proven to be true.

The Editors sadly must report that Mr. Armstrong's successors to the office of Pastor General of the Worldwide Church of God have repudiated his teachings to such an extent that he has was called a "heretic" by one WCG official in October, 1998. This same official also said of Armstrong, "virtually all his teachings are in error" and "he was a false prophet." The present day WCG now considers the church as founded by Armstrong to be a cult, in the pejorative sense of the word. Any student of this Bible study material who contacts the WCG for further information will be subjected to materials and doctrines which are, to say the least, at odds with these Lessons. Instead, it is strongly suggested that the student seek out the various Churches of God that have remained faithful to the fundamental doctrines as developed by Mr. Armstrong.
