Betrayal of the Young!
By M. John Allen
We seem to live today in a world
that gets worse and worse all the time. The atrocities committed today would
have been totally unheard of even 20 years ago. It seems like everything is
becoming insane, wicked, and evil.
People are steeped in sin, and
children in the public schools are forbidden to read the Bible in their
classrooms, when in times gone by the Bible was the basis of education, and one
of the main texts!
As society has thrown away the Christian
values on which it was founded, it becomes more and more lost, corrupt, and
evil. And now, we are starting to really
reap what we have sown. Just recently, there was another horrendous massacre
in our public schools. This is one compelling reason why Christians
should opt for homeschooling or a private school.
Not only are the wrong values being taught in the public schools today, but
they are now a very dangerous place to be precisely because of the warped so
called values being taught.
Children today are taught that
there is no absolute in morality, that everything is relative. They are
taught pagan religions in our schools under the guise of "cultural
appreciation." They are taught ancient pagan Egyptian religions and the
insane babblings of Indian witch doctors. They are told to visualize
themselves around a campfire listening to a witch doctor and drinking in the
native culture. At the same time the very FOUNDATION of our culture, the
BIBLE, is thrown out of the classroom as worthless. Is there any wonder that
we are starting to reap what we have sown?
But all of this could not happen
if parents were taking their proper roles and responsibilities for the
raising of their children. But what am I saying? Today the
"normal" home of the past, with a stay at home mother who watches
after the children, a working father, and a loving, nurturing atmosphere
hardly even exists! Today, single parent homes are the norm, and divorce is
the situation of the majority, so that our so called "families"
barely resemble the homes of the past.
Twenty years ago there was great
concern over "latchkey kids." Today, this has become the norm. Mom
and Dad are at work, so the kids come home to an empty house after school,
while younger children are sent to daycare after school. When the parents do
come home from work, they are too exhausted to spend quality time with their
children. A quick meal is heated in the microwave, or one of the parents
brings home a take out dinner. Television is the mainstay of family life,
having replaced conversation and family games. IN addition, there are outside
activities for almost all age groups, so some of the kids are gone from the
home even more than their parents.
What we have now is a home life
that resembles more a dormitory than a family. People simply have their kids
today, and, by and large, they just seem to grow up on their own. Television
and daycare and the public schools are left as a substitute for parents. Is
it any wonder that we have so many problems today with our young people? And
if recent trends continue, we may have the most violent generation coming up
ever. When these children grow up, how many Mansons
will be among them? Yet it is the fault of our warped value system and our
consumer oriented society that entices us to buy more and consumer more and
to do whatever we have to do to get more and more!
I think with this generation --
which, more than any other is cut off from even a rudimentary knowledge of
what is right and what is wrong -- we shall see the time spoken of by the
Apostle Paul:
II Tim. 3:
1 ¶ This know also, that in the
last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of
their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to
parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection,
trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that
are good, {false...: or, one who foments strife}
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness,
but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they
which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led
away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able
to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes
and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also
resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate
concerning the faith. {reprobate: or, of no judgment}
9 But they shall proceed no
further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs
also was.
If you will carefully read each
of the traits above, you will realize how appropriate to our day this sounds. Let's take a
moment to look at some of the low points above.
The first thing Paul mentions is
that men shall be LOVERS OF THEIR OWN SELVES. This is probably one of the most
blatant things we can see applies to our day. The modern new age prophets of
our day tell us all the time to love ourselves first. We have to raise our
self esteem, they say. If this isn't what Paul was talking and warning us
about I don't know what is!
Christ told us that we should love GOD above all else. Yet,
the modern false prophets of our day tell our people that they need to have
"self actualization" and love of the self first. This turns things
around exactly 180 degrees from where they should be! Notice God's emphasis:
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is
the first commandment.
Christ was here quoting the Old Testament:
Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all
thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all
thy might.
Deuteronomy 11:1 ¶ Therefore
thou shalt love the LORD thy
God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his
commandments, alway.
Yes, we are to love God, and to
show our love for Him, we must OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS! This flies in the face
of the moral relativism of our modern day new age false prophets. Note what
God said about such false teachers:
Deut. 13:
1 ¶ If there arise among you a
prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a
sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder
come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying,
Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt
not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for
the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye
love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Ye shall walk after the LORD
your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye
shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5 And that prophet, or that
dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you
away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and
redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which
the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt
thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. {to
turn...: Heb. revolt against the LORD}
God does not take lightly our
modern false prophets, who tell us to love ourselves instead of loving God.
He also warns us that there is coming a time when false prophets will even be
able to show signs and wonders, but we are not to go after them. Our world is
full of rebellion against God today, and that is the root cause of our
problems!
Today we have our idols. Our
idols are MATERIAL THINGS! We look to the pleasures of this world and the
pleasures of the flesh just like Paul warned us. But people today are PROUD
AND BOASTFUL OF THEIR SINS! People have become heady and high minded, and are
not easy to be entreated anymore. Everyone is haughty and proud and boastful
and not willing to give an inch where their personal agendas are concerned.
And these are the very values being taught in our schools today.
More and more, when one looks at
the way the world is going, we are headed in the direction Paul warned us
about, which is the OPPOSITE from the way God wants us to go. God did not
treat the false prophets of old with gentleness. Their sins were so serious
HE COMMANDED THAT THEY BE PUT TO DEATH! This cannot be done in today's
society, but if parents in God's Church neglect the proper rearing of their
children, I don't think God is going to take it too kindly.
Years ago, many sneered and
scoffed at Ambassador College and Imperial
Schools. The current so called "Pastor General" and
his cronies were such. They went to these schools, but it is obvious that
they didn’t learn anything or love God's truth. Many also thought these
schools were a waste of time and money. They thought a public school
education would do just as well, so they did not value the gifts that God had
given His people.
It is sad that these blessings
were open only to the few back then, but I am sure there are many parents
today who heartily WISH for an Imperial School or Ambassador College, where
they could send their children to learn right values and a right way of life.
I believe that we should have these options open again, and I am about to begin
work on first getting the college reopened [even if not in the original
locations], and then an Imperial Schools. This is a huge undertaking, but I
believe it is something God wants for His people.
IN the meantime, our parents
must teach our young people right from wrong. They must spend quality family
time together. They must impart God's values to their children. And in many
cases, they themselves must RECAPTURE TRUE VALUES!
IN response to the problems of
our public schools, which have become virtual cesspools of wickedness and
violence, a growing homeschooling movement has
grown up. I would encourage those parents who can to research this topic as
fully as possible and seriously consider taking their children out of an ever
more evil public school system that does not value God or His ways. This is a
serious matter, and I hope and pray that parents will respond as they are
able.
